Welcome to the East Gwillimbury Farmers' Market

If you’re looking for local produce straight from the farm into your arms, then the East Gwillimbury Farmers’ Market is for you! Fruits, vegetables, eggs, honey, flowers…you’ll find them here. Our talented vendors also create a variety of jams, jellies, preserves, pickles, sauces, Jamaican treats, spice rubs and more. And of course, we’ve got fresh baked goods and even gluten free products which you can enjoy with freshly brewed coffee and tea.

There are artisans too! Live music, craft programs for the kids, clowns, face painters…and a bouncy castle. And how many farmers’ markets can boast hulabics…we can!…Come on out to the East Gwillimbury Farmers’ Market and see what that is.

Our season is packed with special events.  Make us part of your Saturday routine…shop with us then sit a spell, enjoy some tasty treats and our live music.

OPENING DAY - RHUBARD BAKING CONTEST 'GET BAKING!!'  click here for rules.

For our opening weekend, we have a Rhubarb Contest.  It’s good old fashioned baking…back in style at the East Gwillimbury Farmers’ Market. Rhubarb is popping up in the gardens everywhere. Show us your creativity.

Our live music on opening day is Re-Issue.

Rationale for Shopping at the East Gwillimbury Farmers' Market

 You Deserve the Best!

1. Enjoy fresh tastes and flavours
2. Enjoy meeting the producers of the food you will eat
3. Support family farmers and local artisans
4. Environmentally sensitive agriculture values the land as an asset
5. Nature's vitamin supply, as natural as you can get
6. Diversity of selection throughout the season
7. Know where your food comes from and how it was produced
8. Gather interesting recipes and meal ideas
9. Connect with your friends, local vendors and your community

And also, support local non-profit sports and community organizations.

A vibrant market is one of the most important elements in a community, because those who frequent the market are seeking local or producer-based goods. They also want to interact face-to-face to the person involved in growing/crafting/harvesting the products they purchase

Farm operations are an important part of East Gwillimbury’s history and economic infrastructure. We are fortunate to have access to a wide variety of local farm products, as well as a Council which includes support in the Strategic Plan for rural and economic development and responsible environmental stewardship. There are also a myriad of home business and locally produced goods and services who could benefit from a modestly-priced outlet for sales. Establishing a market in the Civic Centre area will provide ‘one-stop-shopping’ for those residents not able to shop at the farm gate or who would prefer to attend a location closer to home.
